Billie Eilish's trail-blazing efforts as seventeen year old will hopefully be inspiring a new generation of talent in years to come. For now, she's followed by a whole class of excellent upcomers, many of whom have initially established themselves on YouTube. Exhibit A: LA teen Annika Rose, and her distinctive debut single, 'In The End'.
Closer to home, we've seen impressive steps from UK artists such as Maisie Peters, dodie, and Sarah Close as they've built upon their YouTube followings, and it appears that Annika Rose is set to join them on a similar path. There's a vulnerability to 'In The End', with Rose frequently questioning "will it be worth it? - not exactly what you might expect from a debut single from a potential popstar. The uptempo percussive interlude brings things more firmly back into pop territory, and we're liking what we hear already.
