For better or worse, we were quite literally having a nap when SHELLS supported The Naked And Famous (who were spectacular) at the Kentish Town Forum back on Valentine's Day 2017. Sleep's gain was our loss. We're catching up with her beguiling alt-folk and making up for lost time however. Listen to her new material below, alongside golden oldie 'Jailbird', with shades of Maggie Rogers.
Having emerged with the 'Shapes' EP' (adorned by the particularly brilliant 'Jailbird') toward the back end of 2016, SHELLS has been rather quiet subsequently in terms of releasing recorded material. But she's back with a bang, with both 'Heart Beating' and 'Mexico'. Interestingly, the former track was written in South Africa in association with Star For Life, a not-for-profit organisation supporting African schoolchildren. Good cause, good music.
