London outfit Snapped Ankles were a preposterous and delightful surprise at Bognor Regis Butlin's for Rockaway Beach festival, where they wowed a mesmerised audience with their shamanistic expermentalism and unusually forest-imitating attire. They recently dropped a new one, 'Drink And Glide', which appropriately captures their live spirit.
The synth-tastic 'Drink And Glide' is rather unexpectedly based on a poem called 'Timothy Leary Teaches Weightwatchers Classes In Crouch End' by writer and filmmaker Graham Bendel. (No, seriously, it is.) The punchy lyrics are matched by a cacophony of pulsating electronic sounds. A tasty taste of Snapped Ankles album number two and in the meantime, we urge you to get down early to witness the band in full flight as support for BEAK>'s Glasgow, Newcastle, and Leeds November tour dates.
'Drink And Glide' is out on The Leaf Label now. Find more info at snappedankles.com.
