If you ever wondered what a mash-up between Enya and Lionel Richie might sound like, you now need look no further than Twin Shadow's life-affirming new track 'Brace'. Listen to the track and watch its lyric-laden video below, ahead of the release of new album 'caer' on April 27th.
George Lewis Jr has already given us glimpses of the shape of the band's forthcoming album, continuing a historic theme of eighties inspiration, including HAIM collab 'Saturdays'. 'Brace' however is perhaps the most inspired offering from 'caer' thus far - quite literally, with its inspiration from Tom Petty's 'Free Fallin'', as well as namechecking the late artist in the song's lilting lyrics.
'Brace' also takes inspiration from a tour bus accident that left Lewis Jr needing surgery on his hand, as reflected in the singalong chorus line of "sometimes we brace and then fall". With the help of LA solo artist Rainsford and former Passion Pit drummer-turned-producer Nate Dunmoyer, among others, the soaring and soulful 'Brace' is a redemptive return for Twin Shadow.
