One of the new-ish breed of YouTube coverers-turned-bonafide artists, Jasmine Thompson racked up a top 40 hit with her debut single 'Ain't Nobody' in 2014, which was then remixed by Felix Jaehn to reach even greater heights - peaking at #2 in the UK singles charts amid worldwide success in 2015. New EP 'Adore' is the teen's first on Atlantic Records, and it's a good un.
Flanked by lead single 'Adore', 'Crystal Heart' feels like a hidden gem on the EP. The synth-pop foundations and staccato nature of the chorus are evocative of Ellie Goulding's 'Burn', while Ella Henderson is another artist that Thompson can consider as a contemporary. Three might be a crowd, but at least in this case, what a fine crowd it is.
