Surfacing: Clean Cut Kid [New Band]

Liverpool apparently have some sort of history of producing big bands, and Clean Cut Kid look like the latest to make it off the conveyor belt and into wider society. New track 'Vitamin C' bravely embodies both an off-kilter nature reminiscent of the likes of Field Music and outright pop melodies, delectably delivered by the boy-girl vocals.

The band's rise in 2015 has been meteoric, having been snapped up by Polydor, but Mike Halls project began many moons ago. It's nice to see that he's still retained a sense of optimism, as seen on the reassuringly uplifting lyrics of the new track. "If you get lonely, you can just turn to me." We might just turn to 'Vitamin C' in our time of need.
