The biggest surprise of my Glastonbury 2014 wasn't the sheer amount of people watching Dolly Parton on telly in the hospitality area when she was performing just round the corner, but just how wonderfully witty and engaging Public Service Broadcasting were. A quite stunning live performance from a largely instrumental outfit. Their mesmerising new track 'The Other Side' is perhaps their best yet.
The duo's forthcoming album, 'The Race For Space', is rather stupendously based on the battle between the US and USSR for space exploration supremacy - 'The Other Side' takes Apollo 8 launch communications from the British Film Institute archive and envelops them in a glorious electronic-led, film score-esque sea of sound(/tranquility). It might be early days yet but this track is set to be one of 2015's most majestic offerings.
'The Race For Space' is out on February 24th. Find more info at publicservicebroadcasting.net.
