Sheffield sextet Screaming Maldini have undertaken a bit of a project with their twelve-pronged "Miscellaneum of Wonders" - releasing a new track each month across 2014. Their latest addition, the archaically named 'Abyssinia' (the former name of Ethiopia) envelops itself in a sense of glorious melodrama. Better yet, you can download it for free.
Rousing vocals and bold brass are part of the usual make up of Screaming Maldini and on 'Abyssinia', they're used to typically impressive effect. It's perhaps a tad overwrought but it's hard to knock the ambition. Don't forget to also check out their ballsy footy anthem 'Tyrannosaurus Kicks' ahead of England's forthcoming (and almost inevitably doomed) World Cup appearance.
