I have a bit of a soft spot for folk. I also have a bit of a soft spot for Scots. So folky Edinburgh outfit Stampede Road are immediately appealing. The quartet release their debut single later this month. Have a listen to 'White Rooms', and its b-side 'The Ghost And I', below.
An EP from Stampede Road did appear last year although it seems to have disappeared from the internet in the interim period so for many, this single will be the introduction to the band. And it's a strong introduction, particularly the calming 'White Rooms', with its beautiful harmonies and unexpected shoegaze influence. The single is scheduled for release on 22nd July.
