If you read the work of our blog pals Breaking More Waves, Flying With Anna, and/or Just Music I Like, you'll almost certainly have encountered 19 year old Devon singer-songwriter Alice Jemima before. (And if you don't read any of those blogs then you really should.) Here, she delivers an excellent cover of the Blackstreet RnB classic 'No Diggity'.
Jemima has a quietly striking voice but it's her arrangement of 'No Diggity' that particularly excels - retaining the minimalism of the original and channelling it into a manner somewhat reminiscent of The xx. While she's a fan of recording covers, having also tackled Kavinsky and Strangers, Jemima also released her debut EP last year. Have a listen to a taste of it below, via the enrapturing 'By Your Side' - with shades of Joanna Newsom and Alessi's Ark.
