Playlist: Glastonbury Festival 2013 [Ten Recommended Acts]

It's one of the most famous music festivals in the world, and as usual, sold out well in advance. Glastonbury Festival is upon us. Many eager revellers are already down on the campsite but for those of you who haven't managed to get all the time off work or those less into the longhaul camping, here's a selection of bands to catch.

I experienced my first ever Glastonbury just a couple of years ago, thanks to being one of the Emerging Talent Competition judges along with another few dozen fine blogging peers. Rather nicely, they invited me back again this year to help judge the competition again - although my choices of Croupier, Dennis, and Friends In America sadly didn't progress. I figure any tips I have to offer will be pretty much a rehash of many others so instead, have a playlist of bands that could well be worth catching.

Back with a new album and a new line-up, Editors' performance at Glastonbury could be a seminal moment in their career.

HAIM
(Pyramid Stage Friday 12:30 - 13:30 // The Park Stage Saturday 16:15 - 17:00)

One of the most thrilling bands around but can they bring their enthrallingly sweaty live set to the biggest stage?

London Grammar
(La Pussy Parlure Nouveau Saturday 15:30 - 16:30)

Oft-compared to The xx but with both bands on the bill, we will see if these young pretenders catch match their more established counterparts.

Matt Corby
(Acoustic Tent Sunday 14:00 - 14:45 // Rabbit Hole Sunday 18:30 - 19:30)

At face value, just another reality TV discard. Underneath, so much more. Prepare yourself for his stunning vocal.

Noah & The Whale
(Other Stage Saturday 16:30 - 17:30)

Another strong album under their belts, Glastonbury 2013 could well be a precursor to a future stage headline slot

Phoenix
(John Peel Stage Sunday 22:15 - 23:15)

Slightly overshadowed by Daft Punk but the equally seminal French band made their return in 2013 and look set to delight those left standing on Sunday evening.

Rozi Plain
(Small World Stage Saturday 20:00 - 21:00 // The Park Stage Sunday 11:00 - 11:40)

Potentially one of the hidden gems on the massive line-up, and one you're almost certain to bump into elsewhere considering she also plays with This Is The Kit and Francois & The Atlas Mountains, among others.

Vampire Weekend
(Pyramid Stage Sunday 18:00 - 19:00)

Their latest album may not have been their most toe-tapping-inducing effort yet but expect a jolly good time regardless.
