Unusually, ALBERTINE is a new act that doesn't have a bio. And by unusually, I mean like every other new band around these days. Thankfully, she isn't afraid of hiding her face or her musical talent. Our first taste of ALBERTINE is of the strikingly hypnotic 'Babe'. Listen below.
We came across ALBERTINE courtesy of a Facebook post by the excellent Young Colossus project - our sleuthing suggests that she is Albertine Tucknott, better known as a rising fashion designer. We also suspect she's been working with Young Colossus producer Nic Nell, who's something of an FG fave.
'Babe' is a haunting juxtaposition of the electric and acoustic, placing ALBERTINE's serene vocals at its heart. We're also hearing a bit of Beach House and Purity Ring in there but perhaps that's a bit of a stretch. Regardless, 'Babe' is quite the debut and we can't wait to hear more.
