I'm pretty sure Casablanca just got their A level results today. Maybe you did too. Hopefully it will have been good news all round. In other good news, the boys of Casablanca are releasing their debut single, 'Yes'. Listen to their cowbell-infused guitar pop below.
We wrote about Casablanca back in February, calling 'Yes' a "heady indie anthem, cradled by guitar lines". The new production (by Mark Taylor, who has worked with the likes of Enrique Iglesias and Cher!) has given the track a much more enveloping sound - sort of reminding me a bit of the production on Silent Alarm-era Bloc Party.
Listen to the single below, which comes out on 7" vinyl on the new Party Politics label in September. A single launch will be held on 18th September at the Old Blue Last in East London. (Where I once accidentally stepped on Har Mar Superstar's foot and he gave me a deathly glare. I apologised, of course. #lametofame)
