We've been a fan of Hannah Clark since her involvement in the infectious Arthur. Those days are long gone though and she's firmly establishing herself as a provocative, fascinating solo artist - FOE. She's releasing a new single on Stella Mortos/Vertigo, and they're kindly giving away the b-side for free. Download 'The Fox' below.
Teaming up again with Entrepreneurs (Adam Crisp, who also directed the embedded video), as she did on her debut 'Hot New Trash' EP, the new single is another example of FOE's twisted pop.
The A-side 'Deep Water Heartbreaker' is typically menacing and grungey while 'The Fox' is much more understated but equally as melodramatic. I've favourably compared FOE to PJ Harvey since I first wrote about her last May and it almost feels like the two sides of this single traverse the latter's career. But with added spunk. Exciting times lie ahead.
If you're free tonight in London, and not participating in a riot, then head down to the Old Blue Last where you can catch FOE for free. If not, you still have a free download below.
