I went to see the debut feature film from Joe Cornish last night, 'Attack The Block', at a Volkswagen See Film Differently event. The sci-fi comedy/horror was enjoyable and I got to ask a question in the post-screening Q&A, which Joe's dad approved of as we were exiting. I feel validated. I then unexpectedly chatted with some of the cast (including a very lovely Jodie Whitaker) over free drinks afterward upstairs. What a bloomin' great evening.
After meeting some pals, I stumbled home only to discover that the brilliant John Carpenter film 'Assault On Precinct 13' was on. The stars were clearly aligning. A dark, mysterious siege film with a fantastically tense soundtrack. French label Record Makers actually put out the soundtrack for the first time, which you can get hold of here. Listen to a taster below.
