We fell in love with Los Angeles trio of sisters HAIM when we saw them at The Great Escape in May - a sentiment echoed by pretty much anyone else in the music industry who caught them in Brighton. Recorded material has been scant since then, new single 'Don't Save Me' channels Fleetwood Mac impeccably.
Considering the most recent new HAIM material was a Fleetwood Mac cover, the influence on 'Don't Save Me' is unsurprising. In fact, it's quite pleasant - perhaps not quite as striking as anything from the 'Forever' EP yet a track that begs you to reach that replay/repeat button. Thanks largely to its woozy, catchy chorus - "baby, don't save me."
We put forward HAIM as one of FG's top three artists of 2012 earlier in the year. The band are well on the way to fulfilling that potential, and we strongly recommend catching their thunderous live set on their forthcoming UK tour.
'Don't Save Me' is scheduled for release on December 3rd. Find more info at haimtheband.com.
