SYNOPSIS: "Portrait of the rock band Pearl Jam by renowned director Cameron Crowe, cut from over 1,200 hours of rare and unseen footage, live performances and recent interviews." (bbc.co.uk)
A couple of years back, Cameron Crowe directed the music video for one of my favourite Pearl Jam songs, 'The Fixer, which slotted into my 2009 Festive Fifty. Pretty much the only Pearl Jam song I know/like, aside from the ubiquitous 'Alive'. Crowe's documentary of the band is finally out, chronicling twenty years in their history.
Cameron Crowe began life as a Rolling Stone journalist (before going onto write and direct the likes of 'Jerry Maguire' and 'Almost Famous') so was an ideal choice to put together the documentary. Keep an eye out for cameos from David Lynch, Chris Cornell and Neil Young among many others.
